We re in the 21th century, we dont need "rocks" like Gold or Silver anymore as "Money". Let Gold stay in mother earth and dont waste time and energy to digging it out. The idea was a god one like Gold Money. But as you know Gold is "manipulated" on the Comex. BitCoin is maipulated by the "Banksters" as well. So...I think Altoins "are" the answer. If the scarcity of a token is provable via a blockchain, you don't need to rely on the scarcity of gold anymore. An open-source blockchain is "gold 2.0." Read more Reply Douglasie23 Douglasie239 months ago +The Daily Decrypt Hi Amanda, I do believe services like Digix have their place in the currency competition. Here's why: while I agree that gold backed tokens do re-introduce the need to trust a third party, they might have a characteristic that no other cryptocurrency offers:a stable long-term price. And no, I don't see that in crypto pegged to USD, SDR,... The USD for instance has lost 87% of its purchasing power since 1964 and 96% since 1913. Pegging to fiat might offer short term price stability, backing by gold (100% reserve) will offer long-term price stability. And I do believe there are market participants out there that look for that characteristic. And for all the young people (who grew up with crypto) that claim that these people are too old school to get their head around the disruptive nature of crypto (which might be true): don't forget that, for many years to come, this group of old-school-people will be an important part of the market. And if a gold backed token can give them the push needed to enter the crypto market, I welcome that. Read more Reply Simio Simio4 months ago Thankyou for this video! 10 Steakhouse Secrets Only the Experts Know Jun 15, 2016 | 5:44 pm By Dan Myers Editor There are some tips of the trade you’re most likely not aware of Steak Shutterstock Some steakhouse broilers can reach temperatures exceeding 1,000 degrees. There’s no fine dining experience quite like the one you’ll have in a great steakhouse. In a world where most high-end restaurants tend to skew toward the precious and intricate, having a big slab of perfectly cooked beef placed before you can make for a much-appreciated change of pace. But how exactly do steakhouse chefs consistently turn out steaks that are so inexplicably tender and delicious? And why does it seem to be nearly impossible to replicate a steakhouse steak at home? 10 Steakhouse Secrets Only the Experts Know (Slideshow) There are a handful of reasons why it’s not easy to make a steak at home that bears even a passing resemblance to the one you’ll be served at your local Ruth’s Chris. Just about every step of the process (except for the fact that you’re both cooking steaks) is different, from the meat quality to seasoning, cooking technique, heat level, and even the addition of a secret ingredient or two. There are also a few things that go on behind the scenes at great steakhouses that you might not have realized. For one, some steakhouses par-cook their steaks before service, then finish them over high heat when they’re ordered. There’s not much of a reason to do that at home. Surprisingly, there’s one tool that’s essential to cooking a great steak at home that you won’t find in most steakhouse kitchens: a digital meat thermometer. If you find out exactly what temperature is perfect for you, you’ll never screw up a home-cooked steak again. However, great steakhouses still have a few tricks up their sleeves that make them, well, great steakhouses. Click here for 10 steakhouse secrets. Slide 2 of 11: Infrared burner when ignited, only seeing the visible light spectrum Slide 3 of 11:

It’s no secret that the best steakhouses use the best beef, but did you know that great steakhouses use meat that’s of a higher quality than 98 percent of the rest of the beef out there? It’s called USDA Prime, and to achieve that ranking it needs to have the highest level of marbling, or intramuscular fat, and also be from the youngest cows. You’re not likely to find USDA Prime beef at your local supermarket, unfortunately, though some butcher shops do carry it.

Slide 4 of 11:

Some steakhouses advertise “wet-aged” beef, which is essentially steak that’s been stored in an airtight vacuum-sealed plastic bag for a few days or weeks. The majority of casual chain restaurant steaks are wet-aged, and while wet-aged beef is marginally more tender than beef that hasn’t been aged at all, it’s a lot less robustly flavored than its more upscale counterpart, dry-aged meat. When a steakhouse says its steaks are simply “aged,” they’re usually wet-aging their steaks; if a restaurant is dry-aging, it makes sure you know.

America’s 13 Best Casual Chain Steakhouses

Slide 5 of 11:

Most great steakhouses dry-age their beef for anywhere from two to three weeks, and some even go longer than that. In order to dry-age beef, whole primal cuts (large pieces of meat carved out at butchering) are stored in a temperature- and humidity-controlled room and carefully watched. When ready to serve, a layer of the mold that has formed on the meat's surface is removed before it’s cut into steaks, and the end result has a more robust, earthy, funky, mineral-y flavor that steakhouse fans know and love. But don’t automatically assume that it’s better when a steakhouse dry-ages their beef on-premises; it’s very difficult to control perfect aging conditions, so there’s nothing wrong with restaurants hiring a third party to dry-age beef for them.

Slide 6 of 11:

If you were to attempt to cook a steak at home with the same amount of heat that steakhouses use, you’d end up with a very smoky kitchen and maybe even a fire on your hands. Those infrared broilers can reach temperatures of over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and can cook a two-inch-thick steak in a matter of minutes. Even the ovens that the steaks are finished in often reach temperatures of more than 500 degrees.

America’s 15 Most Expensive Steakhouses

Slide 7 of 11:

You know that sizzling effect that Ruth’s Chris is famous for? That’s the result of adding a big dollop of butter to the pan right before the steak is served. Steakhouses use all sorts of techniques to make sure their steaks are juicy and flavorful (sometimes even basting them with suet, or beef kidney fat), but many steakhouses aren’t afraid to use a whole lot of butter to kick their steaks into overdrive. And if you’re prioritizing flavor over calorie content, you shouldn’t be, either.

Do Butter and Eggs Really Need to Be Refrigerated?

Slide 8 of 11:

The reason why steakhouse chefs don’t use instant-read thermometers in the kitchen? They don’t need to. Just by keeping track of how long the steak has been in the broiler (or maybe by giving it a poke or two with their fingers), the grill-men at steakhouses know exactly how cooked a particular steak is. It’s a skill that can take years of practice to perfect.

Rare, Medium, and Well-Done: Which is Best?

Slide 9 of 11:

Steakhouses go through a lot of steaks, but there are always some that sit around for a longer period of time than others. Instead of being thrown out, however, these older steaks (which are still completely edible, just lacking some flavor) tend to be reserved for those who order their steaks well-done, because the diner really won’t be able to tell the difference in a piece of meat that thoroughly cooked.

Why You're a Bad Person If You Order Your Steak Well-Done

Slide 10 of 11:

Well-marbled steaks contain a whole lot of fat, and with the addition of butter and other cooking oils the calorie count of a steak dinner could be off the charts. For example, a 14-ounce ribeye from Outback Steakhouse will set you back 762 calories and 49 grams of fat, and that’s before the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.

The Unhealthiest Dishes at Your Favorite Chain Restaurants

Slide 11 of 11:

Without salt, steaks just don’t taste like steaks. Steakhouse cooks liberally apply salt to every square millimeter of a steak before it goes into the broiler, usually kosher salt. When it arrives at your table it doesn’t taste salty; it just tastes like a great steak.

This Is How and When to Salt Your Food, According to Chef Thomas Keller

Trump Just Declare Ban On Sharia Law. Do You Support This? methodman 2 days ago News, Uncategorized, USA 50,994 Views Trump Just Declare Ban On Sharia Law. Do You Support This? There’s been so much debate over Donald Trump’s statement that the U.S. should ban all Muslims attempting to enter the country. We are going to look at one major question: is it lawful? This is a Reality Check you won’t see anywhere else. “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.” That’s a statement from Trump explaining his plan to prevent terror attacks on U.S. soil—ban all Muslims from entering the country. This plan has been met with a lot of support from some, and condemned by others. “Do you know how to make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told CNN. “We do not discriminate on people based on religion…,” Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently stated. “…never want to do that… have to be responsible… want to be Americans.” What Carson said there about not discriminating against people’s religion being part of the constitution, well, that is true for U.S. citizens. But that’s not what Trump said. He is talking about immigrants or people visiting from other countries. So citing freedom of religion doesn’t apply here. Still, the White House spokesman says this statement disqualifies Trump from the presidency. “What Donald Trump said yesterday, disqualifies him from serving as president,” said Josh Earnest, press secretary for the White House. But are those commentators and so called legal experts right? No, they’re not. Reality check here: a President Trump would have the power to ban certain people from entering the country. Under U.S. Code, the president does have the statutory authority to keep anyone out of the country, for any reason he thinks best. Per 8 USC §1182 “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.” Yes, the president has the authority to do exactly what trump is describing. And by the way, this kind of thing has happened before. In the late 1800s, Congress passed legislation broadly aimed at halting the immigration of Chinese laborers. Those were not fully repealed until 1943. Quotas limiting immigration based on race and national origin were also enacted in the early 1900s. Racial quotas were repealed in 1952, and those limiting people based on national origin were eliminated in 1965. So what you need to know is that when so many people are arguing about what a president legally can do, they are missing the point about what a president should do. Should we ban an entire group of people from entering the country based on their religious views? That is a debate a lot of people are having. But let’s consider this: remember that soundbite from Senator Graham calling Trump this: “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.” You want a reality check? Senator Graham acts like he wants to stand up for Muslim immigrants coming to the United States. And yet, he has advocated for every military and drone bombing of Muslim people living in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan and called for it to happen in Iran as well—policies that have ended hundreds of thousands of Muslim lives. So a question for these enraged Republican candidates who want to make sure that we respect Muslims coming to the United States: are Muslim lives only valuable when they are on U.S. soil? Fugi Man Hell YES!! The Muzzies can stuff their "shitria law" up their filthy Muslim ass.
